Kickstarter Successful

Screen Shot 2014-02-16 at 10.47.22 AMThank you to everyone who supported my Kickstarter that allowed me to make this project happen. I am truly humbled that all of you would support me and this project.  I am so excited to be able to put my absolute best effort into making this project successful and something you can be proud to be a part of.

It took a little longer than expected to get this website set up and to set up a system to collect submissions that would allow me to get appropriate permission and organize submissions in a way that wouldn’t make me go crazy. I am thankful to say that I have some awesome technology in place that makes submissions sync with my google drive so I can collect and organize everything in a way that will contribute to sanity and project success.

Because of this delay and my desire to make sure the final project is high quality, the time line of the project has been extended. Submissions are now due for the video by March 15, 2014. My plan is to then continue filming and editing the video so it is complete by the end of May or early June and then use the video to continue to promote the project, get the word out and receive more submissions for the book.

But, really this project isn’t about a music video or a book. It’s about an idea.

It’s about the fact that bitterness is miserable and sucks the life out you. And that forgiving people who do terrible things is possible, even if the person can’t or won’t acknowledge what happened.

My current goal is to complete filming and editing the video by the end of May 2014. Then continue to receive submission for the book til August 2014. Next will come curating and designing the book which I hope to have completed and ready by late October 2014.

I’ve stretched the time line out to try to be realistic about my limitations so that this project can be life-giving and exciting, instead of something that causes stress on my family. One day, I hope to be doing these type of creative, meaningful projects full time, but in the meantime, I’m just thankful to be able to do it at all!

Please share this project with your friends and encourage them to reflect, forgive and submit! And of course, don’t forget to submit on or before March 15!
